BICHECTOMY
round face bichectomy

People even in excellent physical shape can have unwanted fat deposits on their face that may not reflect the health or vitality they feel inside. People who are bothered by large cheeks (commonly called “cheeks” or “round faces”) know that facial fat is often not related to body fat. In fact, the fat that accumulates in the cheeks, called buccal fat or "bichat balls", often has a genetic component, making it resistant to weight loss.

BICHECTOMY PROCEDURE

Bichectomy is a surgery to refine the face. It consists of removing the Bichat fat balls that give volume to the cheeks. The result is slimmed cheeks, refining and stylizing the patient's face.

The procedure is performed through a minimal incision of approximately 1-2 cm at the level of the intraoral mucosa, entering the compartment where the bichat ball is located. This fat deposit is extracted using gentle traction until complete or partial extraction is achieved as needed. At the end, the incision is closed with absorbable suture. The procedure is repeated on each side of the face.

During recovery, it is important to rest physically and wear a compressive chin guard during the first days.
You should take antibiotics, pain relievers, and use mouthwash after each meal.
There are no points to withdraw.
Checks will be carried out during the first days and then after a month to monitor its evolution.

Bichectomy is a small surgery that can be performed under local anesthesia or supported with minor sedation.

It is an irreversible surgery, the volume of fat that is removed in the bichat balls will not return again.

The result of your surgery can be fully appreciated when the inflammation process ends, approximately 2-3 weeks after surgery.
