MAMMOPLASTY
Breast surgery is one of the most frequently performed plastic surgery procedures. Breast augmentation consists of placing implants to increase the size and perfect the shape of the breasts. A breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure designed to reshape sagging breasts and raise them to a more aesthetically pleasing level on the chest. MAMMOPLASTY PROCEDURE
Mammoplasty or breast surgery is a set of surgical techniques that aim to shape, remodel, reconstruct and, ultimately, model the patient's breast in any of its modalities: increase, reduction, lifting and reconstruction, always preserving its natural morphology.
The mammoplasty can be augmentation, if the surgical technique is aimed at achieving an increase in breast volume through alloplastic materials, prostheses or silicone implants, or a reduction mammoplasty, if it involves modifying the patient's breast size through the elimination of fatty, breast and skin tissue.
MAMMOPLASTY RECOVERY
Your breasts will be bandaged and wrapped in a compression garment to minimize swelling. Some swelling, bruising, and tenderness are common during recovery. Prescription medications can relieve any pain or discomfort. Patients should limit upper body/chest movement to reduce stress on the operated areas. Most patients return to work after a week. Dr. Dávila recommends waiting at least four weeks before resuming vigorous exercise. Additional post-operative instructions will be given to you at your consultation.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE HAVING A MAMMOPLASTY
The procedure usually lasts about two hours and is performed on an outpatient basis under anesthesia. It will be operated through an incision previously determined in consultation, creating a pocket in each breast for the implants. He will then insert the implants, centering them under the nipples before closing the incisions.
At first your breasts will appear to rest higher on your chest, but a few months after surgery, your implants will settle into a more anatomical position.
CLINICAL CASE
Reason for consultation: Patient comes with tuberous and low-volume breasts.
Indication:Augmentation mammoplasty.

During recovery, it is important to rest physically and wear a compressive chin guard during the first days.
You should take antibiotics, pain relievers, and use mouthwash after each meal.
There are no points to withdraw.
Checks will be carried out during the first days and then after a month to monitor its evolution.
