BOTOX

Botulinum toxin or Botox is a toxin purified in the laboratory that produces temporary paralysis of the muscles. This effect is used for cosmetic purposes by applying very specific doses to localized muscle areas, thus attenuating facial wrinkles.

APPLICATION OF
BOTOX

Botulinum toxin injections are performed on an outpatient basis in the office. Its application does not usually cause significant discomfort, so it does not usually require the administration of any type of anesthesia.

After receiving the injections, the patient can return to his daily life, taking into account some instructions that we will provide.

The effect of botulinum toxin is temporary and reversible, so it will be necessary to repeat the treatment when the effect disappears. Generally, patients require reinjections every 6 months.

The application of botulinum toxin is an office procedure. Its application is quick, but the effect is evident as the days go by, being complete after a week.
The duration of the effect varies from patient to patient, generally lasting about 6 months.
The main contraindications include patients allergic to eggs and pregnant women.
Male patients or patients with thick, strong muscles require more units of toxin to achieve full effects.

RECOVERY OF
BOTOX APPLICATION

The application of botulinum toxin does not require recovery.
We recommend that you refrain from exercising and avoid rubbing the application areas for 4 hours after application. After this time, the patient can carry out their activities normally.
